A Basket strainer is a strainer which uses a sieve basket. The baskets are usually made of perforated plate and can be covered with a filter gauze to a fineness of 25micron.  A basket strainer can be mounted directly between the pipe work and have, as indicated earlier, a sieve basket in the filter housing. A basket strainer can be used for a wide range of applications and functions both as a vacuum filter to protect pumps or to remove unwanted particles from a liquid or gas stream. Basket strainers can be used in a wide range of industries and this makes it one of the most widely used strainers.Basket strainers are available with a single filter basket as well as a double filter basket.
